Call for Abstracts

Coming soon! The Canadian Nutrition Society will issue a Call for Abstracts by November 1, 2025 for poster presentations at the CNS Annual Conference. The abstract submission deadline will be January 31, 2026. Please see the Poster Expo – FAQs for more information.

IMPORTANT DATES 

Preliminary dates for reference only; subject to change

• by November 1, 2025 - CNS will issue the Call for Abstracts and the submission portal will be live. 
• January 31, 2026 - 11:59PM ET - Abstract Submission Deadline. Abstracts must be submitted by this date/time to be considered for awards or publication in the journal of Applied Physiology, Nutrition and Metabolism (APNM). No further submissions or edits will be possible
• February 13, 2026 - Call for Late-breaking Abstracts (including encore abstracts*) with a submission deadline of March 12, 2026. Late-breaking/Encore abstracts will NOT be eligible for CNS abstract awards or publication in APNM.
• March 11, 2026 - Authors will be notified of their abstract review results ((abstract is accepted / not accepted) via email.
• March 16, 2026 - Notification to late-breaking abstract authors of review results (abstract is accepted / not accepted) via email. 
• March 20, 2026 - Presenting authors of accepted abstracts must log into their unique abstract portal to accept / decline the opportunity to participate in the Conference 2026 Poster Expo (those who do not respond will be removed from the abstract program).
• March 24, 2026 - Early-bird registration deadline for all conference attendees. Presenting authors are required to register to attend the full conference and are encouraged to register by this date to benefit from reduced rates.
• April 14, 2026 - Deadline for all presenting authors to register to attend the CNS Annual Conference (those who do not register by this date will be removed from the abstract program and from APNM). Attendance is mandatory for all presenting authors.
• April 29, 2026 - Virtual Poster Expo and People's Choice Award launched.
• May 7, 2026 - Poster set up at the Halifax Convention Centre in Halifax, Nova Scotia.
• May 7-9, 2026 - CNS Annual Conference in Halifax.

* Encore Abstracts - abstracts that have been submitted elsewhere or previously published will be accepted for consideration during the "Call for Late-Breaking abstracts" that will be announced on February 13 with a submission deadline of March 12, 2026.  Late-breaking / Encore Abstracts will NOT be eligible for CNS abstract awards or published in APNM.
